MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

SUBJECT

Repatriation of Non-Japanese from Japan.

1.Reference is made to the following memorandums from this headquarters:
a.File AG 370.5 (17 Nov 45)GC, dated 17 November 1945, subject: "Repatriation of Non-Japanese from Japan."
b.File AG 370.05 (17 Dec 45)GC, dated 17 December 1945, subject: "Formosan Repatriates."
c.File AG 370.05 (3 Jan 46)GC, dated 3 January 1946, subject: "Removal of Suspension of Repatriation of Koreans."
d.File AG 370.05 (14 Jan 46)GC, dated 14 January 1946, subject: "Repatriation to Ryukyus."
2.This headquarters has been informed that the reception centers specified for outloading Koreans, Formosans and Ryukyuans are not kept filled with outgoing repatriates as directed in reference paragraph 1a above. As a result, outgoing repatriation vessels are sailing without being loaded to capacity.
3.The Imperial Japanese Government will:
a.Immediately take steps to correct this situation and keep reception centers filled with outgoing repatriates to the capacities specified in reference paragraph 1a above.
b.Scrutinize carefully the shipping schedules furnished and the cited references so that repatriation vessels sailing for Korean, Formosan or Ryukyuan ports are filled with repatriates for those areas.
