THROUGH	Central Liaison Office, Tokyo
SUBJECT	Currencies and Financial Instruments of Japanese Repatriates

1. Reference is made to C.L.O. Memorandum No. 823 (5.1), dated 1 December 1945, subject: "Inspection of Currencies, Securities, etc. brought in by Japanese Repatriates," requesting permission for Japanese repatriates to bring with them from ports of embarkation, currencies, securities and financial instruments.
2. This request is disapproved.
3. This Headquarters is taking such action as is deemed necessary with respect to the uniform handling of currencies and financial instruments of Japanese repatriates.
4. An acknowledgement of the receipt of this memorandum is directed.
