MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

SUBJECT

Repatriation to Ryukyus.

1. Reference is made to C.L.O. No. 1066 (5.1), dated 13 December 1945, subject: "Repatriation of Natives of Ryukyus."
2. a. Plans are in preparation to repatriate natives of the Ryukyus, except former residents of Okinawa Island.
b. Okinawa is not open for repatriation.
3. The Imperial Japanese Government will furnish this headquarters by 26 December 1945 a list showing the number of former residents desiring to return to the Ryukyus, including Okinawa Island, and the islands of Kagoshima Prefecture south of 30 decrees north latitude. The list will show the number of residents destined for each home island and the prefecture in Japan wherein they are located at present.
