MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

SUBJECT

Korean Repatriates in Maizuru Area.

1. This headquarters has been informed that there are 10,000 Koreans in the Maizuru are awaiting repatriation.
2. Instructions have been issued this date the Commanding General, Sixth Army to permit repatriation of subject personnel by the Imperial Japanese Government.
3. The Imperial Japanese Government will include the 10,000 Koreans, now at Maizuru, in their plans for repatriation of Koreans to Korea through ports in Kyushu..
4. It is emphasized that only those Koreans who express a desire to return to Korea will be repatriated.
5. The Imperial Japanese Government will evacuate these repatriates in accordance with the provisions of memorandum this headquarters to the Imperial Japanese Government, file AG 370.5 (17 Nov 45)GC, dated 17 November 1945, subject: "Repatriation of Non-Japanese from Japan."
