MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

Subject

Inventory of Raw Silk, Semi, Greige, and Finished Goods.

1. It is directed that the Imperial Japanese Government require all owners, (including Imperial Japanese Government agencies), of raw silk bales intact, open bales, greige goods in the looms, greige goods, and finished goods both military and civilian fabrics (except those mentioned in CLO No. 519 (2) dated 26 November 1945) make inventories of their stocks in accordance with instructions listed below.
2. Inventories will be made out in triplicate (3 copies) and contain the following information:
a. Name, address, and location of establishment.
b. Owner.
c. Total number unopened bales (will be listed by bale mark, grade, and denier.)
d. Total number opened bales (will be listed by bale mark, grade, denier) and estimated poundage in raw.
e. Total yardage semi-finished greige goods on looms (will be listed according to warp yardage, construction, color, or greige) and number of looms in plant.
f. Total yardage greige goods (will be listed giving construction, number of pieces, color or greige, and yardage).
g. Total yardage finished goods (will be listed giving construction, number of pieces, color or greige, and yardage).
3. The above individual inventories will be submitted in triplicate (3 copies) to the Imperial Japanese Government not later than 15 January 1946
4. The Imperial Japanese Government will be responsible that:
a. All agencies concerned under the terms of the directive have submitted the required inventories.
b. Each inventory is correct and complete.
c. A master inventory is accomplished consolidating all individual inventories using the same form as prescribed in paragraph two (2) above.
d. The master inventory together with the original and duplicate copy of each individual inventory is submitted to this headquarters not later than 25 January 1946.
5. Acknowledgement of the receipt of this Directive (423 (13 Dec 45) ESS-IE, dated 13 December 1945) is directed.
