MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

SUBJECT

Number of Individuals Formerly Domiciled in the Ryukyus, Volcano Islands, and Islands under Japanese Mandate, Who Are Now in Japan.

1. It is desired that a report be furnished this headquarters at the earliest practicable date giving the approximate number of individuals now in Japan, listed by prefecture, who are bona fide residents of and were formerly domiciled in the Ryukyus south of thirty degrees North latitude, Volcano Islands, and islands formerly under Japanese Mandate.
2. The report should list separately the number of Japanese, indigenous persons, and others formerly domiciled on each island of subject island groups. The above categories should be further broken down to show separately the number of civilians and the number of demobilized troops.
