MEMORANDUM FOR

THE IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

SUBJECT

Reconversion Of War Production Plants to Peacetime Production.

1. Paragraph 3b of Directive No. 3, issued by this headquarters 22 September 1945, required that individual application be made for each war production plant desiring to convert to peacetime production. Authority has been delegated by this headquarters to the Commanding Generals of the Sixth and Eighth Armies to accept and act upon such applications.
2. Henceforth, you will have all such applications for reconversion addressed to the Sixth and Eighth Armies.
3. Returned to you herewith for re-submission through the above channels are the following memoranda submitted to this headquarters through the Central Liaison Office:
a. C.L.O. Memorandum No. 355, subject, “Request For Temporary Release Of Electric Motors At Munition Factories For the Use of Husking and Thrashing Cereal Crops,” undated.
b. C.L.O. Memorandum No. 361, subject, “The Reconversion Of the Iwakuni Fuel Factory To Manufactory Of Ammonium Sulphate,” dated October 25, 1945.
c. C.L.O. Memorandum No. 363, subject,“Request For Removal Of Printing Machines At Meiji-jingu Baseball Stadium,” dated October 24, 1945.
