MEMORANDUM FOR

JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

SUBJECT

Ninth Supplemental Request for Approval of Domestic Consumption of Precious Metals in the First Quarter of 1948.

1. Reference is made to C.L.C. No. 9750(LO 4807-FI/2F) 23 December 1947, subject, "Ninth Supplemental Request for Approval of Domestic Consumption of Precious Metals in the First Quarter of 1948."
2. Approval is granted for the release of 396,000 grams silver and 563 grams gold from newly mined stocks available to the Japanese Government, to the Nippon Fukusoband Kogyo K.K., to be used in the manufacture of gold-plated silver buckles licensed for export by Authority Number 3198. The Ishifuku Kogyo K.K., is authorized initially to process these metals into silver and gold plate.
3. The scrap metals remaining after the articles are produced, estimated to amount to 2377 grams silver, will be returned to the Ishifuku Kogyo K.K., for processing into suitable form, and re-purchased by the Japanese Government.
