MEMORANDUM FOR

JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

SUBJECT

Apprehension of Suspected War Criminals.

1. Memorandum to the Imperial Japanese Government dated 10 Jan 47, file AG 000.5 (10 Jan 47) LS-R, (SCAPIN 1455), wherein the Imperial Japanese Government was directed to deliver one KOMEI, Tsuneo, Lieutenant Commander IJN, to the Commanding General, EIGHTH Army at Sugamo Prison (Tokyo Detention Camp), at the earliest possible date, is amended to delete said KOMEI's name for the reason it has been confirmed that KOMEI was killed at sea, west of the Philippines, in January 1945. This name appears as the second name on Page No. 2 of the above mentioned Memorandum.
2. Memorandum to the Imperial Japanese Government dated 10 Jan 47, file AG 000.5 (10 Jan 47) LS-R, (SCAPIN 1455), wherein the Imperial Japanese Government was directed to deliver one KOTANI, Toshihachi, Captain, to the Commanding General, EIGHTH' Army at Sugamo Prison (Tokyo Detention Camp), at the earliest possible date, is amended to delete said KOTANI's name for the reason that KOTANI was killed in action January 1945 in Burma. This name appears as the fourth name on Page No. 2 of the above mentioned Memorandum.
3. Memorandum to the Imperial Japanese Government dated 15 Jan 47, file AG 000.5 (15 Jan 47) LS-R, (SCAPIN 1468), wherein the Imperial Japanese Government was directed to deliver one OZAWA, Shigeru, Lieutenant, to the Commanding General, EIGHTH Army at Sugamo Prison (Tokyo Detention Camp), at the earliest possible date, is amended to delete said OZAWA's name for the reason it has been confirmed that OZAWA was killed in action in Burma on 1 May 45. This name appears as the fifth name on Page No. 2 of the above mentioned Memorandum.
4. Memorandum to the Imperial Japanese Government dated 12 Nov 46, file AG 000.5 (12 Nov 46) LS-R, (SCAPIN 1331), wherein the Imperial Japanese Government was directed to deliver on SASAKI, Toshio, Sergeant, to the Commanding General, EIGHTH Army at Sugamo Prison (Tokyo Detention Camp), at the earliest possible date, is amended to delete said SASAKI's name for the reason that SASAKI is now held in custody in Batavia. This name appears as the fifth name on Page No. 5 of the above mentioned Memorandum.
5. Memorandum to the Imperial Japanese Government dated 10 Jan 47, file AG 000.5 (10 Jan 47) LS-R, (SCAPIN 1456), wherein the Imperial Japanese Government was directed to deliver one TAGA, Tsutomi, Major, to the Commanding General, EIGHTH Army at Sugamo Prison (Tokyo Detention Camp), at the earliest possible date, is amended to delete said TAGA's name for the reason that TAGA was killed in action on 16 Mar 44. This name appears as the sixth name on Page No. 7 of the above mentioned Memorandum.
