IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT

SUBJECT

Repatriation

1.Reference is made to:
a.Memorandum from the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, file AG 370.05 (7 May 46)GC, (SCAPIN 927), dated 7 May 1946, subject as above, as amended.
b.Memorandum from the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, file AG 000.5 (10 Dec 46)GC, (SCAPIN 1391), dated 10 December 1946, subject: Suppression of Illegal Entry into Japan.
2.The Kiku Maru has been designated lift repatriates destined for Korea south of 38°north latitude and Korean illegal immigrants from Sasebo to Pusan, Korea. The ship will depart from Sasebo on or about 16 May 1947.
3.The Imperial Japanese Government will:
a.Place Korean repatriates destined for Korea south of 38°north latitude and Korean illegal immigrants, held at Sasebo, aboard the Kiku Maru.
b.Furnish sufficient Japanese guards aboard ship to insure delivery of Korean illegal immigrants to the custody of the Commander General, ⅩⅩⅣ Corps.
4.Allied guards will not be placed aboard the Kiku Maru.
