MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

SUBJECT

Reinstatement of MUTO, Yasuo, former Librarian at Rikkyo University.

1. So much of Memorandum, General Headquarters, Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, (SCAPIN - 183), file No. AG 000.3 (24 Oct 45)CIS, Subject: Violation of Religious Freedom, as pertains to "Yasuo Muto, Librarian", is hereby rescinded.
2. Upon receipt of this Memorandum, the Imperial Japanese Government will reinstate MUTO, Yasuo, in his former position at Rikkyo University.
3. This action is directed because further investigation has disclosed that there is no substantial evidence of Muto's having been active in the suppression of religious freedom in Rikkyo University.
4. It in further directed that MUTO be screened in accordance with provisions of Imperial Ordinance No. 263.
