1. CLO Memorandum No. 4272 (LO 1172/564), 27 August 1946, forwards joint application of Kanegafuchi Spinning Company, Ltd., (formerly Kanegafuchi Industrial Company, Ltd.), and Japan Oil Mill Company, Ltd., for removal of the latter from the Schedule of Restricted Concerns established by SCAP Memorandum AG 004 (8 Dec 45) ESS/AC (SCAPIN-403), subject: ''Establishment of a Schedule of Restricted Concerns," to which it was added by SCAP Memorandum AG 004 (15 Jun 46) ESS/AC (SCAPIN-1024), subject: "Addition of Subsidiaries of Kanegafuchi Industrial Company, Ltd., to Schedule of Restricted Concerns. ''
2. Prior to the addition of Japan Oil Mill Company, Ltd., to the Schedule of Restricted Concerns, a report submitted by the Kanegafuchi Spinning Company, Ltd., showed that the latter owned 9, 600 shares or forty (40) percent of the stock of the former. Therefore, the Japan Oil Mill Company, Ltd., was added to the Schedule of Restricted Concerns as a subsidiary of Kanegafuchi Spinning Company, Ltd. It has now been revealed that the parent Company had disposed of its holding prior to the issuance of SCAPIN-1024, subject: "Addition of Subsidiaries of Kanegafuchi Industrial Company, Ltd., to Schedule of Restricted Concerns." Since there is no relation between the two (2) companies from the capital and management point of view, the attached Memorandum removes the Japan Oil Mill Company, Ltd., from the Schedule of Restricted Concerns.
3. This is an administrative matter, and no surveillance by the Eighth Army is required.
4. The interests of USAFIK are not concerned.
5. Concurrences: ESS/FI (Lt. Col. D. H. Jennings); ESS/LE (Major E. R. Minnich).
