MEMORANDUM FOR

IMPERIAL JAPANESE GOVERNMENT.

THROUGH

Central Liaison Office, Tokyo.

SUBJECT

Suspension of Repatriation Through the Senzaki Reception Center.

1. Reference is made to Memorandum from the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, file AG370.05 (7 May 46) GC,(SCAPIN-927), dated 7 May 1946, subject: "Repatriation," as amended.
2. All instructions contained in the memorandum referred to above, which are in conflict with this memorandum, are superseded herewith.
3. Due to the presence of cholera at Senzaki, repatriation through that port is suspended effective this date.
4. The Imperial Japanese Government will clear Senzaki Reception Center as follows:
a. Able-bodied Japanese repatriates, after clearance by quarantine officials, will be processed and sent to their homes.
b. Able-bodied illegal Korean immigrants will be outloaded for Sasebo on designated shipping.
c. Cholera patients will be held in isolation at Senzaki. Those cleared by quarantine officials will be evacuated as follows:
(1) Japanese nationals will be processed and sent to their homes.
(2) Korean illegal immigrants will be transported by rail to the Hakata Reception Center for return to Korea.
5. Necessary guards to insure that the illegal Korean immigrants are delivered to the Hakata Reception Center may be secured on request to the local Allied commander.
