MEMO FOR RECORD: (SCAPIN - 2103/1)
WRM/MMC/MHH/WT/jto
20 March 1950
1. SCAPIN 2103 restricted operations in the four ex-naval shipyards and directed that the Kure and Ominato yards close by 31 December 1950. After the Korean incident it was decided that the Kure yard was required to support the British and other Allies. Kure will be required to continue this support.
2. Present SCAPIN modifies the original SCAPIN by putting the Kure yard under the same regulations as the Maizuru and Sasebo yards which are used by the U.S. Navy.
3. Routine surveillance required by CAS.
