Article 1. The Statistics Law (Law No.18 of 1947) shall be partially amended as follows: In Article 3 paragraphs 2 and 3, Article 10 paragraph 6, Article 12 paragraph 2 and Article 18, "or the board of education" shall be added next to "the chief of the local public body" respectively. In Article 5 paragraph 1, Article 6-(2) item (1), Article 7 paragraph 3 and Article 8 paragraph 3, "or the local public body" shall be amended as ", the local public body, or the board of education" respectively;and in Article 12 paragraph 1, "or the chief of the local public body" shall be amended as ", the chief of the local public body, or the board of education" .

Article 2. The Board of Education Law (Law No.170 of 1948) shall be partially amended as follows: The following one Article shall be added next to Article 55:

(Direction and Supervision of State Business Disposed of by the Board of Education) Article 55-(2). With regard to the administrative business to be disposed of by the board of education as an organ of State, the provision of Article 150 of the Local Autonomy Law shall be applicable mutatis mutandis. However, "the head of the ordinary public body" and "the governor of To, Do, Fu or prefecture" shall read "the board of education" and "the To, Do, Fu or prefectural board of education" respectively.
