I hereby promulgate the Law for Abolition of the Imperial Ordinance concerning the Orders to be Issued in Consequence of the Acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This eleventh day of the fourth month of the twenty-seventh year of Showa (April 11, 1952) Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Law No.81 Law for Abolition of the Imperial Ordinance concerning the Orders to be Issued in Consequence of the Acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration 1 The Imperial Ordinance concerning the Orders to be Issued in Consequence of the Acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration (Imperial Ordinance No.542 of 1945;hereinafter referred to as "Imperial Ordinance No.542" ) shall be abolished. 2 Orders or Ordinances issued under Imperial Ordinance No.542 shall, unless measures for their abolition or continued existence are taken by law separately, remain effective as laws for not more than one hundred and eighty (180) days commencing on the day of the enforcement of this Law. 3 This Law shall not affect the effect of the abolition of or partial amendment to laws, orders or ordinances made in accordance with orders or ordinances under Imperial Ordinance No.542. Supplementary Provisions: 1 This Law shall come into force as from the day of the first coming into force of the Treaty of Peace with Japan. 2 The transitional provisions for the enforcement of this Law and other matters necessary in connection with the enforcement of this Law shall be provided for by Cabinet Order.
