I hereby promulgate the Law for Partial Amendments to the National Public Service Law, Etc. Article 1. The National Public Service Law (Law No.120 of 1947) shall be partially amended as follows: In Article 2 paragraph 3, item 13 shall be made item 15, the succeeding items shall be moved down by two and the following two items shall be added next to item 12: 13. Diet personnel 14. Secretaries to Diet members

Article 2. The Law concerning Compensation for National Public Service Personnel in the Special Government Service (Law No.252 of 1949) shall be partially amended as follows: The following two items shall be added next to Article 1 item (23): (23)-2 Diet personnel; (23)-3 Secretaries to Diet members; The following two Articles shall be added next to Article 10:

(Compensation of Diet Personnel) Article 10-(2). The kind and amount of compensation and conditions and procedures of its payment for the personnel in the special government service enumerated in Article 1 item (23)-2 shall be as provided for by the Diet Secretariat Personnel Law (Law No.85 of 1947) and the Regulations for Pay of Diet Personnel based on the provision of Article 25 of the same Law.

(Compensation of Secretaries to Diet Members) Article 10-(3). The amount of compensation, and conditions and procedures of its payment for the personnel in the special government service enumerated in Article 1 item (23)-3 shall be as provided for by the Law for Annual Payment, Travelling Expenses and Other Allowances of the Members of the Houses (Law No.80 of 1947) and the Regulations concerning the Payment of Annual Compensation, Travelling Expenses and Allowances of Members of the Diet based on the provision of Article 13 of the same Law.

Article 3. The Law concerning Compensation of Employees in the Regular Government Service (Law No.95 of 1950) shall be partially amended as follows: In Article 7, "The Speaker of the House of Representatives, the President of the House of Councillors," shall be deleted. In Article 13, ", or Article 25 of the Diet Personnel Law, and the Regulations for Pay of Diet Personnel as provided for in the same Article" shall be deleted.

Article 4. The Law for Partial Amendment to the Law concerning Compensation of Employees in the Regular Government Service (Law No.299 of 1950) shall be partially amended as follows: In the Supplementary Provisions, paragraph 10 shall be deleted and paragraph 11 shall be made paragraph 10.

Supplementary Provisions: 1 This Law shall come into force as from January 1, 1952. 2 The total amount of compensation for Diet personnel to be paid under the provisions amended by this Law shall not exceed the limit of the budget. Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Minister of Finance IKEDA Hayato
