I hereby promulgate the Law for Partial Amendments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Establishment Law. Signsd:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This first day of the sixth monch of the twenty-sixth year of Showa (June 1, 1951) Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Law No.172 Law for Partial Amendments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Establishment Law The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Establishment Law (Law No.135 of 1949) shall be partially amended as follows: In Article 5 paragraph 1, "five bureaus" shall be amended as "six bureaus" and" Political Affairs Bureau "as" Political Affairs Bureau International Economic Affairs Bureau ". In Article 7 paragraph 1 item (2) to item (4) inclusive shall be deleted, item (5) of the same paragraph shall be made item (2) of the same paragraph and the numbering of its succeeding items shall be moved up by three, and in paragraph 2 of the same Article, "items (5) and (6) of the preceding paragraph" shall be amended as "items (2) and (3) of the preceding paragraph" and the following one Article shall be added next to the same Article:

(Functions of the International Economic Affairs Bureau) Article 7-(2). The International Economic Affairs Bureau shall take charge of the following affairs: (1) Protection and promotion of interests relating to the international trade and navigation; (2) Matters concerning the cooperation with international economic organizations, and commercial and economic agreements such as treaty of commerce and navigation and others; (3) Research of the international economic conditions and compilation of statistics and collection of data concerning international economy.

In the list of Article 17, "Kyoto Liaison and Coordination Kyoto City Office Kinki Liaison and Coordination Osaka City"Office shall be amended as: "Kinki Liaison and Coordination Osaka City."Office Article 19 shall be amended as follows:

Supplementary Provisions: 1 This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation. 2 The Law for the Fixed Number of Personnel of Administrative Organs (Law No.126 of 1949) shall be partially amended as follows: In the list of Article 2 paragraph 1, "Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ministry Proper Immigration Agency 1,511persons Immigration Agency 637 persons" Total 2,148 persons shall be amended as "Ministry of Foreign Affairs Minirtry Proper Immigration Agency 1,591 persons Immigration Agency 637 persons" Total 2,228 persons and "Total 887,277 persons| " as "Total 887,357 persons " Minister for Foreign Affairs YOSHIDA Shigeru Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru
