I hereby promulgate the Law for Partial Amendment to the Local Autonomy Agency Establishment Law for Adjustment of Councils, etc. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This first day of the sixth month of the twenty-sixth year of Showa (June 1, 1951) Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Law No.171 Law for Partial Amendment to the Local Autonomy Agency Establishment Law for Adjustment of Councils, etc. The Local Autonomy Agency Establishment Law (Law No.131 of 1949) shall be partially amended as follows: Article 4 paragraph 3 shall be made paragraph 4, and the following one paragraph shall be added next to paragraph 2: 3 The term of office of members of the Local Autonomy Committee shall be two years. Supplementary Provisions: 1 This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation. 2 In regard to the application of the provisions of Article 4 paragraph 3 after the amendment to any member of the Local Autonomy Committee who is actually in office at the time of enforcement of this Law, his term of office shall be calculated as from the date of enforcement of this Law.
