I hereby promulgate the Law for Partial Amendments to the Board of Audit Law. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This tenth day of the fifth month of the twenty-fifth year of Showa (May 10, 1950) Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Law No.165 Law for Partial Amendments to the Board of Audit Law The Board of Audit Law (Law No.73 of 1947) shall be partially amended as follows: Next to Article 4 paragraph 2, the following three paragraphs shall be added: In cases where the term of office of auditor expires or a vacancy in the membership occurs, if the approval of both Houses of the Diet cannot be obtained owing to the closing of the session or the dissolution of the House of Representatives, the Cabinet may, regardless of the provision of paragraph 1, appoint auditor without the approval of both Houses. In the case referred to in the preceding paragraph, the approval of both Houses shall be required at the first session of the Diet to be convoked after the appointment. Without the approval of both Houses, the auditor shall naturally be dismissed. The provision of paragraph 2 shall apply mutatis mutandis to the case referred to in the preceding paragraph. In Article 8, "the preceding two Articles" shall be amended as "the latter part of Article 4 paragraph 4 and the preceding two Articles" .
