Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This fourteenth day of the fourth month of the twenty-fifth year of Showa (April 14, 1950) Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Law No.97 Law for Partial Amendments to the Law for the Total Number of Court Officials The Law for the Total Number of Court Officials (Law No.64 of 1947) shall be partially amended as follows: In Article 1, "Judges full time service 1,016 persons Assistant Judges full time service 372 persons" shall be amended as "Judges full time service 1,066 persons Assistant Judges full time service 444 persons ". In Article 2, "full time service 13 persons 1st Class" shall be amended as "full time service 11 persons 1st Class" . The following one Article shall be added next to Article 2:

Article 2-(2). The number of teachers of the Research and Training Institute for Court Clerks shall be fixed as follows: Full time service 2 persons 1st Class Full time service 3 persons 2nd Class

In Article 3, "22 persons" shall be amended as "24 persons" . In Article 4, "full time service 814 persons 2nd Class full time service 2,699 persons 3rd Class" shall be amended as "full time service 755 persons 2nd Class full time service 2,827 persons 3rd Class ". In Article 4-(2), "full time service 590 persons 2nd Class full time service 1,546 persons 3rd Class" shall be amended as "full time service 682 persons 2nd Class full time service 1,605 persons 3rd Class ". In Article 4-(3), "full time service 2,018 persons 3rd Class" shall be amended as "full time service 2,058 persons 3rd Class" . The following two Articles shall be added next to Article 4-(3):

Article 4-(4). The number of Juvenile investigators (Shonen-Chosakan) shall be fixed as follows: Full time service 2 persons 1st Class Full time service 230 persons 2nd Class

Article 4-(5). The number of assistant juvenile investigators (Shonen-Chosakanho) shall be fixed as follows: Full time service 33 persons 2nd Class Full time service 301 persons 3rd Class

In Article 5, "full time service 34 persons 2nd Class full time service 37 persons 3rd Class" shall be amended as "full time service 11 persons 2nd Class full time service 42 persons 3rd Class ". Supplementary Provisions: 1. This Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation;provided, however, that the revised provisions of Article 4-(4) and 4-(5) shall come into force as from the day when the period of thirty days has elapsed computing from the day of the promulgation of the Law for Partial Amendments to the Court Organization Law, etc.(Law No.96 of 1950). 2. Until the day when thirty days have elapsed computing from the day of the promulgation of the Law for Partial Amendments to the Court Organization Law etc., in the revised provisions of Article 4 and Article 5, "full time service 755 persons 2nd Class full time service 2,827 persons 3rd Class" and "full time service 11 persons 2nd Class full time service 42 persons 3rd Class" shall read respectively "full time service 989 persons 2nd Class full time service 3,114 persons 3rd Class" and "full time service 42 persons 2nd Class full time service 56 persons 3rd Class ".
