I hereby promulgate the Law for Partial Amendment to the Certified Public Accountants Law. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This twenty-eighth day of the twelfth month of the twenty-third year of Showa (December 28, 1948) Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Law No.275 Law for Partial Amendment to the Certified Public Accountants Law The Certified Public Accountants Law (Law No.103 of 1948) shall be partially amended as follows: In the Proviso to Article 56, "April 1, 1949" shall read as "April 1, 1950." The following three paragraphs shall be added next to Article 57, Paragraph 6 as Paragraphs 7, 8 and 9 respectively: 7 Any person who, at the time of the enforcement of this Law, has been continuously engaging in the business of a chartered accountant for more than three years, shall be qualified to become a probationary public accountant, notwithstanding the provision of Article 5, Paragraph 2. 8 Any person who has the qualification mentioned in the preceding paragraph and wants to be a probationary public accountant shall enter on the register of names of the probationary public accountants the matters prescribed in the Regulations for the Public Accountant Administration Commission, within three months from the day this Law is amended. 9 Any person who, at the time of the enforcement of this Law, has been continuously engaging in the business of a chartered accountant for more than ten years, may submit his memoir or report concerning accountancy to the Public Accountant Administration Commission in accordance with the Regulations for the Public Accountant Administration Commission, and may substitute the judgement thereof for undergoing the special certified public accountant examination.
