      <Article Num="1">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 1.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>For the purpose of preserving good customs and of building up a better society and a more flourishing life, the Japanese people, aspiring sincerely to liberty and peace, determine the days on which the whole nation do celebration, commemoration or express their gratitude, and the above days shall be called national holidays.</Sentence>

        <ArticleTitle>Article 3.</ArticleTitle>

            <Sentence>The national holidays shall be holidays.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>

    <SupplProvision>
      <SupplProvisionLabel>Supplementary Provisions:</SupplProvisionLabel>
      <Paragraph Num="1">
        <ParagraphNum>1.</ParagraphNum>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>The present Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
      <Paragraph Num="2">
        <ParagraphNum>2.</ParagraphNum>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>Imperial Ordinance No.25 of 1927 shall be abolished.</Sentence>
