I hereby promulgate the Law amending or Part of the Regulations governig the Organization of the Ministry of Welfare. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This fifteenth day of the seventh month of the twenty-third year of Showa (July 15, 1948) Prime Minister ASHIDA Hitoshi Law No.161 Law amending a part of the Regulations governing the Organization of the Ministry of Welfare Part of the Regulations governing the Organization of the Ministry of Welfare (Imperial Ordinance No.7 of 1938) shall be amended as follows: In Article 3, "six bureaus" shall read "seven bureaus" and "Public Health Bureau" shall read "Sanitation Bureau" , and "Pharmaceutical and Supply Bureau" shall be added next to "Disease Prevention Bureau." In Article 4 and Article 4-(2) "Public Health Bureau" shall read "Sanitation Bureau," and "Article 4 item 4" shall read "item 5," and the following one item shall be added as item 4. 4. Affairs concerning water supply, sewerage and sanitation. In item 1 of Article 5, "and pharmaceutical affairs" and item 2 of the said Article shall be deleted, and "Item 3" shall read "Item 2." Items of Article 5-(2) shall be amended respectively or follows: 1. Affairs concerning Health Centers. 2. Affairs concerning prevention of diseases (affairs under the jurisdiction of Sanitation Bureau being excluded).

Article 5-(3). Pharmaceutical and Supply Bureau shall administer the following matters: 1. Matters concerning pharmaceutical affairs. 2. Matters concerning sanitary materials.
