I hereby promulgate the Law concerning Lump Sum Grant for Public Servants. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This twenty-fourth day of the second month of the twenty-third year of Showa (February 24, 1948) Prime Minister KATAYAMA Tetsu Law No.8 The Government shall grant in lump an allowance the amount of which is within 80 per cent of their each individual one month total pay to all government service officials and those treated as such, unclassified officials, junior clerks, auxiliary workers, and crafts, who are engaged at the very date of December 20, 1947 in regular service as stipulated by law. Necessary administrative details including the coverage of components of total pay and the rate of payment basic in calculation of the present allowance referred to the above paragraph and procedures of payment of lump sum allowance in the same paragraph shall be determined by Cabinet Order.
