I hereby give My sanction to the Ordinance concerning the application mutatis mutandis of the Law governing the Temporary Special Cases in the Pension Law to the pensions of the Imperial Household officials,and cause the same to be promulgated. Signed: HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This twenty-ninth day of the third month of the twenty-second year of Showa (March 29, 1947) Countersigned: Minister of Imperial Household Viscount MATSUDAIRA Yoshitami Imperial Household Ordinance No. 8 The Law governing the Temporary Special Cases in the Pension Law shall apply mutatis mutandis to the pensions of the Imperial Household officials with the exception of the provisions of Article 1, provided that "item 4, paragraph 1, Article 58 of the Pension Law " in Article 2, " Article 65 of the Pension Law" and "Annexed Table No. 2 of the same" in Article 4, " Article 65-(2) of the Pension Law" and " Annexed Table No. 3 of the same " in Article 5, and "Article 75 of the Pension Law," "Annexed Table No.5," "Annexed Table No.6," "Annexed Table No. 7" and "Annexed Table No. 8" in Article 6, shall respectively read "item 4, paragraph 1, Article 43 of the Regulations governing the Pensions of the Imperial Household," "paragraph 1, Article 46 of the Regulations governing the Pensions of the Imperial Household " and " Annexed Table No.1 of the same," " paragraph 2, Article 46 of the Regulations governing the Pensions of the Imperial Household" and " Annexed Table No.2 of the same," and " Article 51 of the Regulations governing the Pensions of the Imperial Household," "Annexed Table No.3," "Annexed Table No.4," " Annexed Table No.5" and "Annexed Table No.6." Supplementary Provisions:

Article 1. The present Ordinance shall be retrospective from October 1, 1946.

Article 2. The sums equivalent to 350 percent of their annual pensions shall be temporarily from October, 1946, paid to those entitled to the increased pension or the annuity for the wounded due to the causes which arose before September 30, 1946, or to those who are given'the allowances in aid in accordance with the provisions in items 2 to 4 inclusive, paragraph 1, Article 51 of the Regulations governing the Pensions of the Imperial Household.

Article 3. In case of those who retired after October 1, 1946, having been re-employed after the 1st retirement, with the increased pension or the annuity for the sick and wounded, before September 30, 1946, the "balance" in the items of paragraph 2, Article 39, in the Regulations governing the Pensions of the Imperial Household, shall temporarily be the amount equivalent to 350 per cent of the remainder, when Article 39 or Article 39- (2) of the Regulations governing the Pensions of the Imperial Household is applied.

Article 4. The Imperial Household Ordinance No. 2, 1933, shall not apply to the computation of the amount of the pensions under the provisions of the present Ordinance.
