        <ArticleTitle>Article 1.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The following partial amendments shall be made to the Regulations governing the Organization of the Sections and Staff belonging to the Cabinet.</Sentence>

              <Article Num="6">
                <ArticleTitle>Article 6.</ArticleTitle>
                <Paragraph Num="1">
                  <ParagraphNum/>
                  <ParagraphSentence>
                    <Sentence>The Statistics Bureau shall take charge of the following matters:</Sentence>
                  </ParagraphSentence>
                  <Item Num="1">
                    <ItemTitle>1.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Population census and other statistical investigation concerning the basis of the status of the country.</Sentence>
                    </ItemSentence>
                  </Item>
                  <Item Num="2">
                    <ItemTitle>2.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Execution of statistical investigation entrusted by Ministeries or summings of statistical investigation entructed by others.</Sentence>
                    </ItemSentence>
                  </Item>
                  <Item Num="3">
                    <ItemTitle>3.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Matters concerning the execution of training of statistic staff.</Sentence>
                    </ItemSentence>
                  </Item>
                  <Item Num="4">
                    <ItemTitle>4.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Matters concerning the publication of press on statistics and collection of statistic data.</Sentence>

                  </Item>

                    <ItemTitle>5.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Matters concerning inquiry into statistical technique.</Sentence>

        <ArticleTitle>Article 2.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">

          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The following partial amendments shall be made to the Regulations governing the Organization of the Statistics Committee.</Sentence>

              <Article Num="1">
                <ArticleTitle>Article 1.</ArticleTitle>
                <Paragraph Num="1">
                  <ParagraphNum/>
                  <ParagraphSentence>
                    <Sentence>The Statistics Committee shall, under the control of the Prime Minister, take charge of the following matters:</Sentence>
                  </ParagraphSentence>
                  <Item Num="1">
                    <ItemTitle>1.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Matters concerning coordination and adjustment of the statistical investigation.</Sentence>
                    </ItemSentence>
                  </Item>
                  <Item Num="2">
                    <ItemTitle>2.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Matters concerning the enforcement of the Statistics Law.</Sentence>
                    </ItemSentence>
                  </Item>
                  <Item Num="3">
                    <ItemTitle>3.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Matters concerning the training plan and the examination of statistics staff.</Sentence>
                    </ItemSentence>
                  </Item>
                  <Item Num="4">
                    <ItemTitle>4.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Matters concerning summons and conferences of chiefs of statistics affairs in various organs.</Sentence>
                    </ItemSentence>
                  </Item>
                  <Item Num="5">
                    <ItemTitle>5.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Matters concerning control on international statistics affairs and exchange of foreign and domestic statistics books.</Sentence>
                    </ItemSentence>
                  </Item>
                  <Item Num="6">
                    <ItemTitle>6.</ItemTitle>
                    <ItemSentence>
                      <Sentence>Matters concerning propagation of statistics knowledge, and improvement and development of statistics.</Sentence>
                    </ItemSentence>

            <AmendProvisionSentence>
              <Sentence>In paragraph 1, Article 3, "ten members" shall read "fifteen members."</Sentence>
            </AmendProvisionSentence>
          </AmendProvision>
          <AmendProvision>
            <AmendProvisionSentence>
              <Sentence>In paragraph 3, Article 4, "by the Cabinet" shall read " by the Prime Minister" and "through the recomendation of the Prime Minister to the Throne" shall be deleted.</Sentence>

              <Article Num="4_2">
                <ArticleTitle>Article 4-2.</ArticleTitle>
                <Paragraph Num="1">
                  <ParagraphNum/>
                  <ParagraphSentence>
                    <Sentence Num="1">The Committee shall have some councillors to participate in the Committee affairs. The councillors shall be appointed by the Prime Minister ftom among persons of knowledge and experience on statistics or from among the first or second class officials of various government offices.</Sentence>
                  </ParagraphSentence>

              </Article>

              <Article Num="6_2">
                <ArticleTitle>Article 6-2.</ArticleTitle>
                <Paragraph Num="1">
                  <ParagraphNum/>
                  <ParagraphSentence>
                    <Sentence>Matters necessary for the proceeding of the meeting of Statistics Committee shall be decided by a Cabinet Ordinance.</Sentence>
                  </ParagraphSentence>
                </Paragraph>
              </Article>

          </AmendProvision>
          <AmendProvision>
            <AmendProvisionSentence>
              <Sentence>In paragraph 1, Article 8, "full service 4" shall read "full service 5" and "full service 10" shall read "full service 12."</Sentence>

            <NewProvision>
              <Article Num="9">
                <ArticleTitle>Article 9.</ArticleTitle>
                <Paragraph Num="1">
                  <ParagraphNum/>
                  <ParagraphSentence>
                    <Sentence>In addition to the staff mentioned in paragraph 1 of the preceding Article, the Prime Minister may appoint cabinet secretaries from among the first or second class officials of the government offices concerned.</Sentence>
                  </ParagraphSentence>

            <NewProvision>
              <Article Num="11">
                <ArticleTitle>Article 11.</ArticleTitle>
                <Paragraph Num="1">
                  <ParagraphNum/>
                  <ParagraphSentence>
                    <Sentence>The Civil Service Ordinance shall be applied to the services of members or temporary members who are appointed from among non-officials.</Sentence>
                  </ParagraphSentence>
                </Paragraph>

        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
    </MainProvision>
    <SupplProvision>
      <SupplProvisionLabel>Supplementary Provision:</SupplProvisionLabel>
      <Paragraph Num="1">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>The present Ordinance shall come into force as from May 1, 1947.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
