I hereby give My sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning the partial amendments of the Regulations concerning the Governmental Supplied and Loaned Articles for the Gaolers, and cause the same to be promulgated. Signed: HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This twenty-sixth day of the third month of the twenty-second year of Showa (March 26, 1947) Countersigned: Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Minister of Justice KIMURA Tokutaro Imperial Ordinance No. 99 A part of the Regulations concerning the Governmental Supplied and Loaned Articles for the Gaolers shall be amended as follows: "Regulations concerning the Governmental Supplied and Loaned Articles for the Gaolers" shall read "Regulations concerning the Governmental Supplied and Loaned Articles to the vice-chief Wardens and Gaolers." In Art. 1, "gaoler" shall read "vice-chief warden and gaoler" and "collar (white)" shall read " white shirt, necktie ." In Art. 2, par. 1, "gaoler" shall read "vice-chief warden and gaoler," "shoulder insignia" shall read " collar insignia and breast strap, " and " sword, thread and band of sword " and "buttons and cherry-blossoms insignia" shall be deleted. In par. 2 of the same Article, "abbreviated cap of Army style" shall read "a special styled cap." In Art. 3, par. 1, "collar, two, per two months" shall read " white shirt, two, per one year, necktie, two, per two years ." In Art. 4, "collar" shall read "white shirt and necktie." Supplementary Provisions: The present Ordinance shall come into force as from April 1, 1947. The Imperial Ordinance No. 869 (regarding the corresponding application of the Regulations concerning the Governmental Supplied and Loaned Articles for Gaolers, to vice-chief Wardens) shall be abolished. In accordance with the provisions of par. 2 of the supplementary provisions of the Attire Rules for Prison Officials, the former Attire Rule shall be applied for the time being as in the past as to the supply and loan of former uniforms used.
