However, the Attire Rule for Women Prison Officials shall be determined separately by the Minister of Justice. Supplementary Provisions: The present Ordinance shall come into force as from April 1, 1947. The former uniform may be used temporarily for the time being. However, the wearing of sword and small sword shall not be permitted except in the cases provided in No. 5 of Remarks of the annexed sheets. LIST OF ATTIRE RULES FOR PRISON OFFICIALS (Annexed sheets) Tunic Clothing Material Dark blue woolen cloth (including serge). Making Open collar,double breast style. Three similar colored buttons as clothing material are sewed in two rows. One pocket on upper part of left side of front. Two pockets with flap on lower part of both sides. Figure as per illustration. Collar insignia The golden braid cherryblossoms insignia,on the background of the same colored velvet as material, are affixed on the left side of collar. The number of cherryblossoms insigniais three for first class official, two for second class official, one for third class official. Figure, measure and places attached by sewing as per illustration. Breast insignia For gaoler, one plain-woven golden stripeon the same colored woolen cloth as clothing material. As forhead ofgaoler, one stripe, and for vicechief warden, two diagonal threaded stripes, and for warden,"" three diagonal threaded stripes are sewed on the, right part of breast. Sleeve insignia Three similar colored diagonal threaded stripes for firstclass officialas clothing material, two stripes for second class official,one stripe for third class officialare affixedon both sleeves. Figure and measure as per illustration. Trousers Clothing material Same as the tunic. Making Pockets on both sides and right rear of trousers. Figure as-per illustration. Mid-summer tunic Clothing material White cloth. Making Open collar. Four white concealed buttons are affixedin a row. On the both sides of the breast, each one button with a flapattached with a button. Sleeves with cuffsare secured with button. Figure as per illustration. Collar insignia Same as the tunic. Breast insignia Same as the tunic. Mid-sumtner trousers Clothing material Same as the mid-summer tunic. Making Same as the ordinary trousers. Special trousers Clothing material Same as the tunic. Making Length is down to the ankle. Bottom part are cut apart and four same colored buttons as clothing material are affixed thereon. Pockets on both sidesand right fear of the trousers. Figure as per illustration. Service cap Clothing material Dark Blue woolen cloth. Making Round shape with a black leather visor and chinstrap. Both ends of the chin-strap are secured with the golden button with cherry-blossoms insigniain circleupon the both ends of cap. Around the cap is attached a black colored diagonalstriped braid. Figure and measure as per illustration. Badge Silver rising-sun insignia on backgound of black velvet which is attached by two golden diagonal threaded stripes. Around the background is embraced by gold braided cherry-blossoms (the color of buds is silver). Figure and measure as per illustration. Class"A" greatcoat Clothing material Dark blue woolen cloth. Making Open collar, lapel shape. Double breast, with a hood and band. Length of sleeve is 5 c.m. long from wrist. At the collar part five black buttons are affixed for securing the hood and the hood is affixed with a nose-protector and three black buttons. The rear -of the skirt is cut apart and affixed with two black buttons. One pocket on upper part of front, and each one concealed pocket both insides of middle part of the coat. Figure as per illustration. Breast insignia Same as the tunic,except places attached by sewing on the left breast. Sleeve insignia Same as the tunic. Class "B" great coat Clothing material Dark blue woolen cloth or black water-proof cloth. Making Long mantle shape with hood. The length is at discretion. Collar is of lapel shape, and on the breast five black colored concealed buttons are affixed. Hood and hood securing buttons are same as in the case of Class "A" coat. Figure as per the illustration. REMARKS: 1. When any special necessity occurs according to nature of duties, Minister of Justice may determine the exceptions of wearing Uniform. 2. According to circumstances surrounding locality or nature of duties, when any special service-cap, dust-prevention cloth, white cloth, cold, fire and water prevention attire and bullet-proof apparatus is required to be used, Minister of Justice may determine those manners. 3. When any special necessity occurs according to nature of duties, the shoulder insignia and other badges may be worn according to rules provided by Minister of Justice. 4. When any special necessity occurs, Minister of Justice may determine temporary exception as to the clothing material and materials for accessories out of the Attire provided by this Imperial Ordinance. 5. When any special necessity occurs on guard, sword or small sword based on the old provisions may be worn for the time being. (The illustrations are omitted)
