I hereby promulgate the Law concerning the Grant of Temporary Allowance for Public Servant. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This twenty-fifth day of the eleventh month of the twenty-second year of Showa (November 25, 1947) Prime Minister KATAYAMA Tetsu Law No.140 The Government shall be authorized to grant a temporary allowance each month in and after October, 1947, the allowance at the rate of 12.5 per cent of their monthly total pay to government service officials and those treated as such, unclassified officials, junior clerks, auxiliary workers and crafts who regularily serve in the Government. Necessary details concerning the coverage of payment basic to the temporary allowance referred to in the preceding paragraph and other administrative matters regarding the granting procedures of the said allowance of the same paragraph shall be determined by the Minister of Finance. Supplementary Provision: The present law shall come into force as from October 1, 1947, Law No.119 of 1947 concerning Lump Sum Grant for Public Servants shall be abregated on November 30, 1947.
