I hereby promulgate the Law concerning the appointment, removal etc. of Governmental Officials before the application of the provisions of the National Public Service Law shall be made. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This twenty-first day of the tenth month of the twenty-second year of Showa (October 21, 1947) Prime Minister KATAYAMA Tetsu Law No.121 With regard to the matters concerning the appointment, removal, promotion of class, suspension of office, reinstatement, disciplinary punishment and status of the government officials, those concerning their salaries, remunerations and other allowances, and those concerning their service, they shall follow the examples as provided for by the old law, before the application of the provisions of the National Public Service Law shall be made to the public office concerned, if not otherwise provided for by law or by regulations of the National Personnel Commission under Article 16 of the National Public Service Law. The regulations under the provisions of the proviso of the preceding paragraph shall conform to the spirit of the National Public Service Law. Supplementary Provisions: The present Law shall come into force as from January 1, 1948. In Paragraph 1, "Regulations of the National Personnel Commission under Article 16 of the National Public Service Law" shall read "Cabinet Order" by June 30, 1948, and the said Cabinet Order shall be provided for with the advice of the Temporary National Personnel Commission.
