I hereby promulgate the Law concerning the partial amendment to the Law providing Temporary Measures concerning Lease-hold Land and Leased Building in the Cities Damaged by War. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This thirteenth day of the ninth month of the twenty-second year of Showa (September 13, 1947) Prime Minister KATAYAMA Tetsu Law No.106 The Partial Amendment of the Law providing Temporary Measures concerning Lease-hold Land and Leased Building in the Cities Damaged by War shall be made as follows: In Article 2, Paragraph 1 "within one year" shall be amended as "within two years." In Article 7, Paragraphs I and 3, "six months" shall be amended as "one year." In Article 12, Paragraph 1, "with one year" shall be amended as "within two years," and "the Local Court" in Paragraph 4 of the same Article, shall be amended as "the District Court." In Article 18, "the Local Court" shall be amended as "the District Court." In Article 19, Paragraph 2, "the President of the Local Court" shall be amended as "the District Court." In Article 22, "an Imperial Ordinance" shall be amended as "a Cabinet Order."

Article 25-(2). The provisions of Articles 2 to 8, 10 to the preceding Article, and Article 35 shall apply with necessary modifications to a case where a building was destroyed by fire, earthquake, storm and flood damage and other calamities specified by Law. In that case "the date on which this Law comes into force" in Article 2, Paragraph 1 and "July 1, 1946" in Article 10, shall read "the date on which the Law of Article 25-(2) comes into force" ;at the date on which this Law comes into force "in Article 11, shall read" at the date on which the Law of Article 25-(2) comes into force ";and" the date on which this Law comes into force "in Article 12, shall read" the date on which the Law of Article 25-(2) comes into force."

Article 27. The districts to which this Law (excluding the provisions of Article 25-(2)) are applied shall be specified by Law. The districts to which the provisions of Article 25-(2) are applied shall be specified by Law in each case of damage.

In Article 29, Paragraph1, "within one year" shall be amended as "within two years." Supplementary Provisions: The present Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation. The districts already provided for by the previous provisions shall be presumed as the districts provided for by the amended Paragraph 1 of Article 27 of the present Law.
