I hereby promulgate the Law concerning the partial amendments to be made to the Law No.54 of 1947 relating to Prohibition on Private Monopoly and Methods of Preserving Fair Trade. Singned:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This thirty-first day of the seventh month of the twenty-second year of Showa (July 31, 1947) Prime Minister KATAYAMA Tetsu Law No.91 The following amendments shall be made to the Law No.54 of 1947: In Articles 28 and 31, "the Commissioners" shall read "the Chairman and the Commissioners." In paragraph 1 of Article 29, "seven (7) Commissioners" shall read "the Chairman and six (6) Commissioners" and in paragraphs 2 and 3 of said Article "The Commissioners" shall read "The Chairman and the Commissioners," and the following paragraph shall be added next to paragraph 2 of said Article; The Emperor shall attest the appointment and dismissal of the Chairman. In the main sentence of paragraph 1 and in paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 of Article 30, "the Commissioners" shall read "the Chairman and the Commissioners" and in the Proviso to paragraph 1 of said Article, "a Commissioner who has been" shall read "the Chairman and a Commissioner who have been." In Article 32, "the Commissioners" shall read "the Chairman or the Commissioners." Paragraph 1 of Article 33 shall be deleted. In Article 114, "one (1) year for one (1) commissioner, two (2) years for two (2) commissioners, three (3) years for one (1) commissioner, four (4) years for two (2) commissioners and five (5) years for one (1) commissioner" shall read "one (1) year, two (2) years, three (3) years or five (5) years, respectively for four (4) commissioners and four (4) years for two (2) commissioners." Supplementary Provision: The present Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
