    <MainProvision>
      <Article Num="1">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 1.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The President of each House shall be paid as the annual payment seven thousand (7,000) yen per month;the Vice President, five thousand (5,000) yen;members, three thousand five hundred (3,500) yen.</Sentence>

        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="2">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 2.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence Num="1">The President and the Vice President of each House shall be paid the annual payment, beginning from the month when they were elected as such. A member of the Houses who has been elected as the President or the Vice-president of each House, shall be paid the annual payment as such until the month preceding the election.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="3">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 3.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence Function="main" Num="1">Each member of the Houses shall be paid the annual payment, beginning from the month when his term of membership commences. However, a person who has been elected as a member in a re-election or a by-election shall be paid the annual payment, beginning from the month in which the election was held, and a runner-up who has replaced the predecessor shall be paid the annual payment, beginning from the month when his election was confirmed.</Sentence>

        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="4">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 4.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>In the case of expiration of the term of office, resignation, retirement, expulsion or death of the President or the Vice-president of each House or a member of the Houses, each shall be paid the annual allowance up to the month such an event occurred.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="5">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 5.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>In the case of dissolution of the House of Representatives, the Speaker, the Vice-Speaker or the members shall be paid the annual payment up to the month of the dissolution.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="6">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 6.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>When the President, the Vice-president or a member of each House has become a member of the other House, or under any other circumstances, he shall not be paid the payment in duplicate.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="7">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 7.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence Function="main" Num="1">A member of the Houses who holds concurrently a post of a government official shall be paid the annual payment as a member of the Diet, but not the salary as a government official. However, in case the amount of the salary exceeds that of the annual payment, he shall be paid the balance.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="8">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 8.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>When the President, the Vice-president or a member of the Houses has complied with the convocation of the Diet, or when he was despatched to some place on official affairs of the Diet, he shall be paid the travelling expenses for both ways, in accordance with regulations separately made.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="9">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 9.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The President, the Vice-president or a member of the Houses shall be paid one hundred and twenty-five (125) yen per month as communication expenses, for posting official ducuments and for communications of an official character.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="10">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 10.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The secretary assistant of President, Vice-president or members of each House shall be paid one thousand one hundred and fifty (1,150) yen per month as salary.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="11">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 11.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>Provisions of Article 3 to Article 6 shall apply mutatis mutandis to the expenses provided for in the preceding two Articles.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="12">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 12.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>In the case of death of the President, the Vice-president or a member of the Houses, a sum of money corresponding to his annual payment for one (1) year shall be paid to his bereaved family as condolence.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="13">
        <ArticleTitle>Article 13.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>Regulations concerning the payment of the annual payment, travelling expenses and allowances, excepting those stipulated in this Law, shall be fixed on consultation between the Presidents of both Houses.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
    </MainProvision>
    <SupplProvision>
      <SupplProvisionLabel>Supplementary Provisions:</SupplProvisionLabel>
      <Paragraph Num="1">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>The present Law shall come inte force as from the day of the enforcement of the Diet Law.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
      <Paragraph Num="2">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>Law No.20 of 1946 shall hereby be abolished.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
