I hereby give My Sanction to the Imperial Ordinance concerning the partial amendments to be made to the Midwives Regulations and cause the same to be promulgated. Signed: HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This third day of the ninth month of the twenty-first year of Showa (September 3, 1946) Countersigned: Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Minister of Welfare KAWAI Yoshinari Imperial Ordinance No. 417 The following amendments shall be made to a part of the Midwives Regulations: In Article 1, Item 3 shall be deleted, and Item 4 shall read Item 3.

Article 21. A person, who has been given a licence of a midwife in Korea, Formosa or Kwantung Province, and is regarded to be proper by a local governor, may apply to register her name on the midwives list, in spite of the provisions of Article 1 for the time being.

Article 22. A person, who will apply to register her name on the midwives list, shall make an application along with a licence and a curriculum vitae, in spite of the provisions of Article 4, Paragraph 2.

Supplementary Provision: The present Ordinance shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.
