      <Paragraph Num="1">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>A part of Enforcement Regulations for National Medical Treatment Act shall be amended as follows:</Sentence>

        <AmendProvision>
          <NewProvision>
            <Article Num="1">
              <ArticleTitle>Article 1.</ArticleTitle>
              <Paragraph Num="1">
                <ParagraphNum/>
                <ParagraphSentence>
                  <Sentence>Doctor's license in accordance with the prescriptions of Article 4 of National Medical Treatment Act shall be given to the persons who passed the State Examination for Medical Practitioners.</Sentence>
                </ParagraphSentence>
              </Paragraph>
              <Paragraph Num="2">
                <ParagraphNum/>
                <ParagraphSentence>
                  <Sentence>Unless the applicants correspond to the following, he or she shall not take the State Examination for Medical Practitioners.</Sentence>
                </ParagraphSentence>
                <Item Num="1">
                  <ItemTitle>1.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who studied medicine at a college established in accordance with College Act and were permitted to bear the title of Gakushi, or those who graduated from medical department of a medical academy established by the government or by public institution or by private institution which was authorized by Minister of Education and after he or she got the title of Gakushi, or according to the provisions of the Ordinance, those who after graduation, executed medical examination and treatment for more than one year and passed through practical training concerning public health.</Sentence>
                  </ItemSentence>
                </Item>
                <Item Num="2">
                  <ItemTitle>2.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who have passed the Preparatory Examination of the State Examination for Medical Practitioners and, afterwards, have undergone, under the provisions of the Ordinance concerned, medical attendance and the practical training of public hygiene for a year or over.</Sentence>
                  </ItemSentence>
                </Item>
                <Item Num="3">
                  <ItemTitle>3.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who have graduated from foreign medical colleges or have obtained licenses in foreign countries for medical practitioners, and who have been admitted by the Minister of Welfare to be, in scholarship and talent, equal or superior to those prescribed in the preceding two numbers, and to be appropriate.</Sentence>

              </Paragraph>
              <Paragraph Num="3">
                <ParagraphNum/>
                <ParagraphSentence>
                  <Sentence>The Preparatory Examination of the State Examination for Medical Practitioners shall not be applied for, unless by those prescribed in the following:</Sentence>
                </ParagraphSentence>
                <Item Num="1">
                  <ItemTitle>1.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who have graduated from the medical department of the private medical colleges which do not correspond to No. 1 of the preceding paragraph.</Sentence>
                  </ItemSentence>
                </Item>
                <Item Num="2">
                  <ItemTitle>2.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who have graduated from foreign medical colleges or have obtained licenses for medical practitioners in foreign countries, but not corresponding to No. 3 of the preceding paragraph, and who have been admitted by the Minister of Welfare to be appropriate.</Sentence>
                  </ItemSentence>

              </Paragraph>
            </Article>

          <NewProvision>
            <Article Num="1_2">
              <ArticleTitle>Article 1.(2)</ArticleTitle>
              <Paragraph Num="1">
                <ParagraphNum/>
                <ParagraphSentence>
                  <Sentence>The State Examination for Medical Practitioners shall be held concerning medical science clinically necessary, and knowledge and ability which are to be had as a doctor regarding public hygiene.</Sentence>
                </ParagraphSentence>
              </Paragraph>
            </Article>

          <NewProvision>
            <Article Num="2">
              <ArticleTitle>Article 2.</ArticleTitle>
              <Paragraph Num="1">
                <ParagraphNum/>
                <ParagraphSentence>
                  <Sentence>The licence for dentists under the provisions of Article 4 of the National Medical Treatment Act shall be granted to those who have passed the State Examination for Dentists.</Sentence>
                </ParagraphSentence>
              </Paragraph>
              <Paragraph Num="2">
                <ParagraphNum/>
                <ParagraphSentence>
                  <Sentence>The State Examination for Dentists shall not be applied for, unless by those who are prescribed in the following:</Sentence>
                </ParagraphSentence>
                <Item Num="1">
                  <ItemTitle>1.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who have studied dentistry in the college under the College Act and are entitled "Gakushi" (College Graduate), or those who have graduated from government or public dental academies or such private dental academies as appointed by the Minister of Education.</Sentence>
                  </ItemSentence>
                </Item>
                <Item Num="2">
                  <ItemTitle>2.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who have passed the Preparatory Examination of the State Examination for Dentists, and, afterwards, have undergone, under the provisions of the Ordinance concerned, the dental attendance and the practical training of dental hygiene for one year or over.</Sentence>
                  </ItemSentence>
                </Item>
                <Item Num="3">
                  <ItemTitle>3.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who have graduated from foreign dental colleges or have obtained licenses for dentists in foreign countries, and who have been admitted by the Minister of Welfare to be, in scholarship and talent, equal or superior to those prescribed in the preceding two numbers.</Sentence>
                  </ItemSentence>
                </Item>
              </Paragraph>
              <Paragraph Num="3">
                <ParagraphNum/>
                <ParagraphSentence>
                  <Sentence>The Preparatory Examination of the State Examination for Dentists shall not be applied for, unless by those prescribed in the following:</Sentence>
                </ParagraphSentence>
                <Item Num="1">
                  <ItemTitle>1.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who have graduated front private dental academies which do not correspond to No. 1 of the previous paragraph.</Sentence>
                  </ItemSentence>
                </Item>
                <Item Num="2">
                  <ItemTitle>2.</ItemTitle>
                  <ItemSentence>
                    <Sentence>Those who have graduated from foreign dental colleges or have obtained licenses for dentists in foreign countries, but not corresponding to No. 3 of the preceding paragraph, and who have been admitted by the Minister of Welfare to be appropriate.</Sentence>
                  </ItemSentence>
                </Item>
              </Paragraph>
            </Article>

          <NewProvision>
            <Article Num="2_2">
              <ArticleTitle>Article 2.(2)</ArticleTitle>
              <Paragraph Num="1">
                <ParagraphNum/>
                <ParagraphSentence>
                  <Sentence>The State Examination for Dentists shall be held concerning dental science clinically necessary and knowledge and ability which are to be had as a dentist regarding dental hygiene.</Sentence>
                </ParagraphSentence>
              </Paragraph>
            </Article>
          </NewProvision>
        </AmendProvision>
        <AmendProvision>
          <AmendProvisionSentence>
            <Sentence>In Article 3 and 4, "The Examination for Medical Practitioners" shall read "The State Examination for Medical Practitioners and the Preparatory Examination of the State Examination for Medical Practitioners," and "The Examination for Dentists" shall read The State Examination for Dentists and the Preparatory Examination of the State Examination for Dentists."</Sentence>
          </AmendProvisionSentence>
        </AmendProvision>
        <AmendProvision>
          <AmendProvisionSentence>
            <Sentence>Article 4 and Article 5 of the Supplementary Provisions shall be deleted.</Sentence>
          </AmendProvisionSentence>
        </AmendProvision>
        <AmendProvision>
          <AmendProvisionSentence>
            <Sentence>In Article 6 of the Supplementary Provisions, "shall thereby be eligible for the Examination for Dentists until December 31, 1952," shall read "shall thereby be eligible for the Preparatory Examination of the State Examination for Dentists until December 31, 1952."</Sentence>
          </AmendProvisionSentence>
        </AmendProvision>
      </Paragraph>
    </MainProvision>
    <SupplProvision>
      <SupplProvisionLabel>Supplementary Provisions:</SupplProvisionLabel>
      <Paragraph Num="1">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>The present Imperial Ordinance shall come into force as from September 1, 1946.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
      <Paragraph Num="2">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>Those who are, under the former regulations, eligible to obtain licences for medical practitioners or licences for dentists (excepting those who correspond to No. 2 of Article 4 of the former Supplementary Provisions and who will be entitled "Gakushi" or graduated after the enforcement of the present Imperial Ordinance), and who have been unable, due to unavoidable reasons, to obtain the licences by the day of enforcement of the present Imperial Ordinance, may be granted by the Minister of Welfare licences for medical practitioners or licences for dentists, for the time being, notwithstanding the amended provisions of Article 1 or Article 2.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
      <Paragraph Num="3">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>Those who have passed the Examination for Dentists which has been enforced since the April 17, 1946, under the former regulations, shall be regarded as having passed the Preparatory Examination of the State Examination for Dentists.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
      <Paragraph Num="4">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>For those who are undergoing the training of medical attendance, under the former regulations at the time of enforcement of the present Imperial Ordinance, the Minister of Welfare, may, if he thinks fit, curtail the period of practical training of attendance and public hygiene, notwithstanding the amended provisions of Paragraph 2 of Article 1.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
