    <MainProvision>
      <Article Num="1">
        <ArticleTitle>Art. 1.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The Price Board shall, under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister, take charge of the affairs of prices.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="2">
        <ArticleTitle>Art. 2.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The Price Board shall have the following personnel;</Sentence>

        <Paragraph Num="2">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The post of the Director General shall be filled up by a State Minister.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="3">
        <ArticleTitle>Art. 3.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The Price Board shall have the Directors General's Secretariat and three Divisions.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
        <Paragraph Num="2">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>Business sphere of the Director General's Secretariat and each Division shall be prescribed by the Director General.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="4">
        <ArticleTitle>Art. 4.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The Price Board shall have Councillors participating in business of the Board.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
        <Paragraph Num="2">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>Councillors shall be appointed by the Cabinet from among 1st class officials of the government offices concerned and also from among learned and experienced persons in accordance with Prime Minister's recommendation to the Throne.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
        <Paragraph Num="3">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>Councillors shall keep secrets available to them concerning their duties.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="5">
        <ArticleTitle>Art. 5.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The Director general shall preside over business of the Board under the direction of the Prime Minister, and shall be in charge of the personnel of the Board, dealing with the advance and dismissal of 3rd class officials at his own discretion.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="6">
        <ArticleTitle>Art. 6.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The Vice-Director shall assist the Director general and take charge of business of the Board.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="7">
        <ArticleTitle>Art. 7.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The post of the Division Director shall be filled by 1st class cabinet secretaries or technicians.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
        <Paragraph Num="2">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The Division Directors shall take charge of business of the Divisions under the direction of their senior officials.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
      <Article Num="8">
        <ArticleTitle>Art. 8.</ArticleTitle>
        <Paragraph Num="1">
          <ParagraphNum/>
          <ParagraphSentence>
            <Sentence>The Prime Minister may set up Local Price Bureaus, which, under the authority of the Price Board, shall be in charge of the execution of the business of the Price Board at such places as necessary.</Sentence>
          </ParagraphSentence>
        </Paragraph>
      </Article>
    </MainProvision>
    <SupplProvision>
      <SupplProvisionLabel>Supplementary Provisions</SupplProvisionLabel>
      <Paragraph Num="1">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>This Ordinance shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
      <Paragraph Num="2">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>The temporary organization of the Price Section of the Finance Ministry shall be abrogated.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
      <Paragraph Num="3">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>The secretaries of the Finance Ministry who belong to the Price Section of the Finance Ministry at the time of the enforcement of this Ordinance, shall be regarded as appointed cabinet secretaries of the same ranks as the former, in case written appointments are not made.</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
      </Paragraph>
      <Paragraph Num="4">
        <ParagraphNum/>
        <ParagraphSentence>
          <Sentence>The Ordinance relating to the ranks of the Shinnin-kan (officials directly appointed by H. M.) and various officials shall be revised as follows:</Sentence>
        </ParagraphSentence>
        <AmendProvision>
          <AmendProvisionSentence>
            <Sentence>One item "vice-director of tho Price Board" shall be inserted next to the paragraph "Private Secretary to the President of the Reconstruction Board of war-damages" under the section of the "Cabinet" in the table classifying the Sinnin-kan (officials directly appointed by H. M.) and various official ranks.</Sentence>
