I hereby give My Sanction with the concent of the Imperial Diet to the Law concerning the allowances to the Speakers, Assistant Speakers and Members of the Imperial Diet and cause the same to be promulgated. Signed:HIROHITO, Seal of the Emperor This twelfth day of the ninth month of the twenty-first year of Showa (September 12, 1946) Countersigned: Prime Minister YOSHIDA Shigeru Minister of Finance ISHIBASHI Tanzan Law No.20 The Speaker, Assistant Speaker and each member of each of the Houses of the Imperial Diet shall receive the allowance amounting to 1.500 yen per month for the time being. The provisions of the proviso of paragraph 1 and paragraphs 2 and 3 of Article 19, of the Parliamentary Law shall be applied mutatis mutandis to the allowances prescribed in the preceding paragraph. In case the salary (including allowances provided in Imperial Ordinance) of a member who is a government official is less than the sum total of the annual allowance allocated per month and allowance prescribed in Paragraph 1, he shall receive the allowance prescribed in Paragraph 1 within the limit of the deficient amount, notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 3 of Article 19, of the Parliamentary Law, which shall be applied mutatis mutandis in the preceding paragraph. Supplementary provision: The present Law shall be applied to the allowance for and after April, 1946.
