I hereby give My Sanction, with the advice of the Privy Council and the approval of the Imperial Diet, to the abrogation of the part, which has not come into force, of the Law No.34 of 1946 (the Law for the Amendment to Part of the Election Law of the Members of the House of Representatives), and cause the same to be promulgated. Supplementary Provisions: The present Law shall come into force as from the day of its promulgation. The following amendments shall be made to part of the Election Law of the Members of the House of Representatives.

Article.11 The Member of Tokyo Metoropolitan Assembly, the Member of Hokkaido Departmental Assembly, and the Member of Prefectural Assembly cannot be the Member of the House of Representatives at the same time.

The following amendments shall be made to Paragraph 2 of Article 112: Government or public officials concerned with the election business, if committed crimes mentioned in the preceding paragraph in connection with the election, shall be punished with penal servitude or condemned to imprisonment less than 4 years, or be punished, with a fine less 3,000 yen. Police officials shall be punished as well, if committed crimes mentioned in the preceding paragraph in connection with the election in Metropolis, Department (Do), or Prefectures concerned. The following amendments shall be made to Paragraph 2 of Article 113: Government or public officials concerned with the election business, if committed crimes mentioned in the preceding paragraph in connection with the election, shall be punished with penal servitude or condemned to imprisonment less than 5 years, or be punished with a fine less than 4,000 yen. Police officials shall be punished as well, if committed crimes mentioned in the preceding paragraph in connection with the election at Metropolis, Department (Do), Prefectures concerned.
